The Art of Dorothy Cannon
Tempera on paper
Updated 10/2009: Most of these paintings are not temperas but acrylics. The presence of their images and vibrancy of their colors is remarkable. They have serious damage, as their paper is brittle and extremely fragile -- most have damaged edges and corners similar to this example. Very few are damaged beyond saving, however, and many have now been stabilized by mounting to foam core board, as described in this note. Many of these paintings have pinholes near the corners, a sign that Dorothy thought highly enough of them to display them in her studio for her students.
